La Cordillera Blanca

After days of rough backcountry roads in the Peruvian countryside, I finally reached the world's highest tropical mountain range. The journey from Chacas on the Eastern foot of the Cordillera Blanca to the Carhuaz only takes three hours but is breathtaking. Bendy roads, deep valleys and a snow storm  at the top when I came out of the tunnel Punta Olimpica at 4'680m made it all the more exciting.
